Ray Manzarek (February 19 1939-May 20 2013)
Ray was one of those rock gods who you thought could never die. He would always be there as a reminder of the time when music actually had meaning. One of those musicians who would just never die. As Jim Morrison once said, This man is the Doors. Along with playing phenomenal keyboards, he also played organ and sang on many Doors songs. Because of his amazing talent on the keyboards, the Doors songs have that very distinguish, simply groovy sound. Not only did he put up with Jim’s antics, he also kept the band alive for a while after Jim’s death, and he had a successful solo career for many years. But alas, all gods must fall one day. The music may be over for Ray, but Doors songs will continue to be played and loved for many generations to come.
